The Contrada Agnese Project (CAP) of the American Excavations at Morgantina (AEM) began a multiyear research and excavation project in 2013, focused on a probable residential area located in the western part of Morgantina. Based in part on the results of a geophysical survey in 2012, excavation is already revealing the outline and details of a city block situated far from the luxury and grandeur of the agora district. This article presents key findings from the project’s 2013 and 2014 seasons and an preliminary interpretation of the excavation data, as well as an account of CAP’s advances in the fields of data management and geospatial computer modeling.
